I spent around 30 years of my life running this Olympic marathon and if there is any physical evidence of the work I’ve done it would be an artwork originally titled "The Three Wise Harlequins" that I created containing subliminally a model vision for Australia (i.e. an example of how a national and international vision might be approached).
While I have most definitely learned things about myself and the world around me by creating this artwork it has not been a successful project in terms of having the message accepted by anyone anywhere. We’re too busy eating up our own future to Stop, Look and Leap in any co-ordinated planned direction.
We are now finding that it’s all catching up with us.
The relevant buzz word is “unsustainable”.
We don’t want to plan for our future so whether we like it or not our future will be thrust upon us by others. And people are going to baulk badly.
We are sowing the seeds of our own pain by making the wrong choices or no choices at all. The lessons are already harsh.
I did try exhaustively so but was ultimately unsuccessful. Now it's your turn. I want this artwork to stand on its own two feet like we all should be doing. It's time for its message to go public. ..."SEE YOURSELF".
YOU may even come home with a gold medal? …YOO!
WHO ARE WE?
WHAT DO WE STAND FOR?

I found a microphone in front of my face.
Reporter the great lens of the camera bearing down
on me for my revelatory comment.
After a long pause my response was
“I just hope that we make a success of it collectively”.
What that reporter unwittingly did was plant an invitational seed
to have a go at writing my aspirational story for Sydney
which over the next 30+ years has changed and grown
into not only a story for Sydney, NSW and Australia
but invites the World to participate
in this Country coming of age.
It's time for Australia to make decisions to point us forward.
The Artwork described here invites us to see ourselves
through the distracting busyness of our lives
and to Stop, Look and Leap towards our future.
That takes courage, focus and energy.
Are yoo up to the challenge?
